It’s always a wonder for me whether I can create something from scratch, something I actually like doing, somewhat tied up to what I am good at and get paid doing it. See, it’s always been my dream earning large sums of money…well, who doesn’t? This drove me to explore different ways to achieve the FINANCIAL FREEDOM dream.
Long time ago, I was introduced to a book by a friend of mine. Many of you know this book and some of you had read it too. It’s from the best-seller Robert Kiyosaki, but wait, it ain’t Rich Dad Poor Dad, instead it’s titled Cashflow Quadrant. And that started my quest of being financially free, the book reading addiction started and it blew me away. I started devouring book after book that I can get my hands into. Famous books like “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill, “The Richest Man in Babylon” by George Clason, “Start Late Finish Rich” by David Bach, “The Millionaire Next Door”, “The Total Money Makeover” by Dave Ramsay, “Secrets of The Millionaire Mind” by T. Harv Eker, then I added some biographies of those successful people who started from scratch and created an empire. The likes of Sir Richard Branson, Felix Dennis, Anthony Robbins, and a lot more. I attended a lot of seminars about Stocks, Mutual Funds, Forex trading and anything I can get information about building wealth.
In the years, I was able to build some little amount of investments and savings, had a taste of passive income, had a business that has potential but somehow, the tide turned and I lost most of it. I lost my investments and had to pay my friends who invested with me, that drained my savings. My monthly passive income got sacked, my business never went off the ground because I trusted my business partner that much. I miscalculated my risks and went all in and lost almost everything (one of the most darkest days of my life). At the end of the day, all of those…it’s all my fault, I learned not to blame anyone but me. I learned to stand up, dust myself off and start all over again.
So far, a little each day, it’s getting better, a new horizon with much learning and experience in my hands now makes me a warrior, a beast and this 90 day financial challenge is a part of it.
Now, I can’t actually divulge how much additional extra income I am aiming for (worth 50% of my current salary) due to confidentiality with my current job but, I will be open and transparent in my progress and updates in my next posts.
As of now, I’d like to say that I’m really excited on how this would turn out. I hope you plan yours, at least try to plan something scary to push you outside your comfort zone. “Coz it’s outside that line, that’s where you’ll find unlimited opportunity, unlimited resources. It ain’t crowded there, so keep moving forward.
