Just Don’t Forget to do this when you’re Overwhelmed…

That suffocating feeling…

It numbs you, freezes you in your tracks. That tightness in your chest…

Oohhh…most of us already know the feeling, when massive and loads of stuff has been dumped right above you. The fog thickens and you don’t know what to do. That…OVERWHELMING feeling!

There’s a lot of techniques, numerous approaches, thousands of posts online that talks about dealing with that overwhelming feeling and everything do help depending on the situation. I won’t enumerate all of them but there’s just this one common thing about them. And I find it the most important.

There’s this one movie I always remember when I think about it. That conversation in the movie (The Forbidden Kingdom – Jackie Chan and Jet Li) tell’s it all. So simple, so effective and so powerful. The conversation goes like this…

Jason Tripitikas: [Crossing the desert to get to the mountains. Jason sits next to the Silent Monk] We’re not going to make it are we?
The Silent Monk: [No response]
Jason Tripitikas: What if I can’t handle it? What if I freeze?
The Silent Monk: [Monk slowly turns and smiles] Don’t forget to breathe.
